Double R Ranch

Set deep in the Knights Valley AVA and encircled by thousands of acres of planted vineyard, Double R Ranch is a private American ranch estate where the gates close behind you and the rest of the world stays outside. The Oak Terrace is a full acre of level, compacted stone opening onto a majestic heritage oak — deliberately unadorned, a true blank canvas that holds a tent, a dance floor, or forty feet of farm table without a mud track or a sinking heel, in any month of the year.

The Campbell Tree is a secluded, softly enclosed setting created for ceremonies and intimate dinners, just steps from the Oak Terrace. Dining in the Vines sets 1,000 square feet directly among the vine rows, for intimate dinners and smaller-scale weddings surrounded by the fruit that becomes the wine in your glass. Swimming pools, a bocce court and a pickleball court that converts handsomely into a second reception space round out the grounds, while Casa 1 and Casa 2 sleep twelve for those who want to wake up on the ranch and stay through the weekend.

Double R Ranch sits on the estate of Ross Ranch & Vineyards, a boutique winery whose wines are poured at some of the most exacting addresses in hospitality — The French Laundry, Four Seasons and Montage among them. Here, they are simply the house wine. Claudia and Keith Ross farm these twelve acres and make the wine themselves: walking the rows with your guests, opening a library vintage, telling you what the fog did that September. Estate wines are offered at preferred pricing for the weekend — or bottle something entirely your own, a personally branded wine labeled for the occasion that long outlives it.
